Abstract

Describes how career criminal, Johann Pointinger, was to be taken from prison to court to be interrogated about accomplices in some of his crimes and how he murdered his guard, Lorenz Weichselmann, en route with the guard's own sword in an attempt to gain his freedom. The wagon driver called for help and Pointinger was apprehended then later found guilty of murder according to the Criminal Code (Article 146, Part I). The King of Bavaria declined to commute his sentence so he was beheaded by the sword.
